The next meeting of the
United Democrats of Frederick County will be
held at Cafe 611 on Monday, June 7. The meeting
begins at 7:00 p.m.; come at 6:00 for dinner
and socializing.
This month's speakers
will be the two Democratic candidates for the
House of Representatives sixth district seat:
Casey Clark and Andrew Duck.
Clark is a graduate of the
University of Arizona where he majored in
Political Science and played on the defensive
line for the school's nationally ranked
football team. He worked in television news
until 2005, when he left to join his
family's business, designing mostly woven
labels for clothing. He lives in
Carroll County.
Duck is a graduate of
Southwest Texas State University, with a degree
in Public Administration. He served
for more than 20 years in the United States
Army, completing three tours in Bosnia and a
tour in Iraq in 2003, and has also worked as a
stockbroker for Merrill Lynch in Frederick. He
currently works in the office of the Deputy
Army Chief of Staff for Northrop Grumman as an
advisor to the Pentagon on Army Intelligence
issues and lives in Brunswick.
